Win Kyaw Zan is an accomplished photographer based in Yangon. He is our local guide as well as photographer sharing his tips on how to get your best shots. Having worked with a number of distinguished international travel photographers for over a decade, including Art Wolfe, Nevada Wier, Jock Montgomery, Scott Stulberg, Roger Nelson and Gavriel, Win understands the needs of photographers. His knowledge of local cultures, his ability to access monasteries and gain permission to enter and photograph very special areas and activities, is second to none. Win has become one of the most sought after guides for professional photographers all over the world. In addition to his native Burmese tongue, Win speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese and English. Day 1 -Yangon
You are welcomed by our tour guide at the airport who will be holding a sign with your name on it and driven to the Hotel. There will be an orientation at the hotel before we proceed to Padonmar Myanmar traditional restaurant for lunch.

After lunch, we’ll visit Chaukhtet Kyi Pariyahti monastery to photograph the monks studying.

Later in the afternoon, a special visit to Shwedagon Pagoda until sunset. We’ll stay late to photograph the candle lights offering to the Pagoda. ***Special granted request***

Proceed to dinner at Shankan Chinese restaurant. Overnight at Kandawgyi Palace hotel or similar

Day 2- Yangon/ Bagan (flight)
Early morning check out from the Hotel. Fly to Bagan. You will be met by our driver at the airport who will be holding a sign with your name on it and driven to the hotel. At the hotel and prepare for the photography session.

Bagan photography: Shwezigon Pagoda Pillars and villagers carrying things on the head, monks with Umbrella and so on. We’ll visit the Pariyathi Gu Kyaung to photograph the novices preparing for lunch too.

Lunch is at BBB best Myanmar restaurant. Those who miss the American food, you’ll have a chance to enjoy American food at that restaurant. After lunch, take a short afternoon break..

Afternoon photography: Sulamani Temple with best murals , monks praying with candles and incense , Dhammayangyi temple with reclining Buddha and twin Buddhas and proceed to photograph the best sunset from Pyathetgyi Temple.

Proceed to dinner at the restaurant. Overnight at Bagan Riverview Hotel or similar

Day 3 – Bagan sightseeing
Early morning, photograph the sunrise from Shwesandaw Pagoda to get a picture of the misty morning over with thousands of Pagodas. Return to the Hotel for breakfast.

Morning photography: Nattaung teak monastery and Ananda Temple known as the temple with the most beautiful Buddha images.

Lunch is at a local Myanmar restaurant.

After lunch Photography: Bagan traditional lacquerware making families, great panoramic view from Thitsawadi temple. ***Special granted request***

In the afternoon, a special visit to Minanthu village has been arranged to photograph the weavers, the ladies with cheroots and people carrying water from the lake. Discover village life. ***Special granted request***

Proceed to dinner at Tharaba restaurant with Chinese food. Overnight at Bagan Riverview Hotel or similar

Day 4- Bagan/ Kampalet ( by Pajero car )
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Kampalet. The driving hour is around 7 hours. We’ll stop on the way for lunch and visit a local village. Arrive in Kampalet and check in Hotel. Enjoy Sunset. Dinner is at a local restaurant. Overnight at Mountain Oasis Hotel

Day 5 – Kampalet Tattooed Chin excursion
Early morning, photography session in the Kampalet village where people are cooking, washing and preparing for work. We’ll explore the villages around. Meet the tattooed women. ***Special granted request***

Lunch is in the village. Dinner is at a local restaurant. Overnight at Mountain Oasis Hotel

Day 6- Kampalet/ Bagan ( by Pajero car )
After breakfast, we drive back to Bagan having lunch en route. Arrive Bagan, check in Hotel.

The rest of the day is free to explore as you wish.

Photograph an evening sunset from a village outside of Bagan. Overnight at Bagan Riverview hotel or similar

Day 7- Bagan/Mandalay (flight)
After breakfast prepare for your flight to Mandalay. Check out and fly to Mandalay. Arrive at Mandalay airport. You are met by our driver at the airport who will be holding a sign with your name on it and driven to the hotel.

On the road to Mandalay, we’ll visit Amarapura and see the Mahagandayon monastery with over 1000 monks lined up for lunch. ***Special granted request***

Proceed to Mandalay and lunch at Ko’s Kitchen Thai food. Proceed to Hotel and check in Hotel. After a break, drive back to Amarapura and photograph the U Bein Bridge area. We’ll also have a chance to shoot the models with decorative Thanaka on the faces of young girls there. Walk through the bridge and from the ground level halfway, we’ll photograph the sunset over U Bein Bridge.

Drive to Golden Duck with best roasted duck restaurant and back to the hotel. Overnight at Mandalay Hill Resort or similar

Day 8 – Mandalay/ Mingun/Innwa/ Mandalay
Early morning leave around 5:00 to the Jetty to take an early morning boat ride to Mingun. We must be at Mingun Myatheindan Pagoda early morning for good light to photograph the monks / nuns/ villagers by the Myatheindan Pagoda. ***Special granted request***

We’ll see sunrise from the Ayeyarwaddy river. We’ll also walk to the famous world’s biggest Pagoda with the big crack with monks and nuns with umbrellas. We’ll also have a chance to photograph the world’s biggest ringing bell too. Head back to Mandalay.

Lunch will be at City Café. After lunch we proceed to Innwa. We will visit the Bargahar teak wood monastery. Drive to the A Little bit of Mandalay restaurant and enjoy best Myanmar food. Overnight at Mandalay Hill Resort or similar

Day 9 -Mandalay/ Kyaingtong ( flight )
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive to Mandalay airport for your flight to Kyaingtong. Arrive in Kyaingtong where we are met and driven to the hotel.

Visit the Palaung Village to photograph the Palaung tribes in the village. We’ll also have a chance to photograph them on the farm, weaving and tilling land with water buffalo. ***Special granted request***

Back to the Hotel and go out for dinner. Dinner at local restaurant called Golden Banyan. Overnight at New Kyaingtong Hotel or similar

Day 10 – Kyaingtong -Villages -sightseeing
Early morning drive to Pintauk Village to photograph the Akha tribe and Eng tribes. We’ll have to drive about an hour and walk about 45 minute to the villages.

We’ll meet the Eng tribes known as black teethed people and we’ll photograph them in their daily life. We’ll walk to an Akha village and photograph villagers there. We’ll have a picnic lunch in between. We’ll also have some tribes model for us in the rice fields. Shoot sunset over the villages. ***Special granted request***

Return to Kyaingtong. Go out for dinner at Golden Banyan and overnight at Hotel.

Day 11- Kyaingtong – Yangon (flight)
Early morning visit to the colorful, local Kyaintong market. Fly to Yangon. We are met at the airport and driven to our hotel.

After lunch, the afternoon is free for you to explore as you wish or shop. Enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening. Hotel is Kandawgyi Palace hotel or similar

Day 12-Yangon departure
After breakfast, you are driven to the airport for your departure flight homebound or onward.
