Halong Bay Boat Accident
Our thoughts are with those families who may have lost someone in the recent sinking of a boat on Halong Bay, Vietnam. Boat operations have been suspended by the Vietnam government until stricter laws regarding safety are put into place. My word from Vietnam is that the company operating the boat is a small local company either booked by travellers over the internet or while there. Boats are smaller than ones used by larger land operators endorsed by tour companies like ourself here in the United States.
Sample itineraries on this site Travels with Teri do show Halong Bay options at this time. That itinerary part would be negated until further notice if you are planning a trip to visit Vietnam.
