A customized trip allows you the opportunity to travel at your own pace. You can have your own private car and driver to the Taj Mahal, add a river cruise in Vietnam or ride a train from Beijing to Moscow. Visit exactly those towns, villages and historical sites that you want to see. Experience a local home cooked dinner in Cambodia, see the artisan at work at home in Laos or watch a sand mandala being made for an upcoming puja in Nepal. You’ve always dreamed of taking a culinary class in Italy on how to make pasta, do it! View temples from the sky in a hot air balloon in Myanmar. Custom tours are also ideal for families and those special gatherings or occasions when you want to “do it your way”.
Escorted tours let you sit back, kick up your feet and enjoy. A group leader is there to handle all hotel reservations, transfers and tours and make sure all goes well. Your escort will find an answer to any question or concern that you may have. When you travel on an escorted tour you have your own personal assistant right beside you.
Small group tours operate on a minimum/maximum number of people and is led by local guides in different regions. Some companies give an additional leader at a particular number of people. For instance a tour may need 4 people to run, will limit the group to 12 people and offer a leader at a 7 person booking. The advantage of traveling in a small group is a more personalized experience.
Chauffeured tours are private which are done by one driver throughout the entire trip. The chauffeur is at your disposal 8 hours a day and you are free to ask him to take you wherever it is you wish to go. This type of trip is great when touring small countries such as in the UK. Chauffeured trips offer you the freedom to travel without needing to be behind the wheel.
Self-drive tours are when you rent your own vehicle drive yourself through the countryside. When you book a self-drive tour, you are given maps, routes and suggested itineraries for that region. You can include having your hotels prebooked with your car or RV rental or stop at motels and holiday parks along the way. Self-drive tours have become a popular way to see New Zealand and South Africa. With a self-drive tour you are on your own.
Home base tours are when you stay in the same hotel, apartment or villa from which you see the region by taking day trips. This type of trip is for those of you who like the continuity of beginning your day and ending your day in the same spot. Choose a central location from which you can see the sights of history, art, castles, local markets and the countryside. Home base tours let you walk the real roads yet visit the “must see” sites around the area.
Hosted holidays are a great way to travel when you can’t take enough time off work for an extended vacation but need to get away. Have a romantic holiday in mind that you and your loved one will never forget? Then a short stay hosted holiday just may be for you.
