Air Bagan Flight Emergency Heho

Per one of my Myanmar ground operators:

On Tuesday morning, the 25th December, Air-Bagan flight W9-011 flying Yangon-Mandalay-Heho made an emergency landing some two miles from Heho Airport.

There were more than 63 passengers on board at the time of the landing and there have been reportedly 11 casualties and 2 fatalities. The exact cause of the mis-landing is unclear.

While there were no Trails of Indochina guests on board, our local offices continue to monitor the situation and report that our operations are unaffected.

Heho is a town in the Taunggyi District of Burma’s southern Shan State. It is the main airport serving Inle Lake, one of the top tourist attractions in the country.
